Promoting the art and craft of wood turning in the greater Cincinnati area

Date: 12/5/2019
Subject: Member Appreciation Luncheon - Show and Tell
From: Jerry W Warner

Ohio Valley Woodturners Guild
If you are not attending the Member Appreciation Luncheon on Saturday you do not need to read further.  If you are attending I want to invite you to bring a piece(s) of your work for show and tell.  We may not have time for you to actually talk about the pieces you bring, but we will have a table where you can display them for others to see and enjoy.

I also want to remind you to bring a piece for the gift exchange.  Ideally the piece you bring should be one that you would be happy to keep in your personal collection - not one that you want to get rid of, but have been reluctant to pitch in the fire place.  By participating in the gift exchange you will have an opportunity to select an equally beautiful piece made by another OVWG member.  This will make a nice addition to your collection and give you something to remember the maker by.

And last but not least, don't forget to bring your ornament for the contest.  The rules are very simple.  It should be an ornament that is turned from wood (at least some wood) and can be hung on a tree.  It may have other components in addition to the wood.

I am looking forward to seeing you on Saturday.  The doors open to the Kennedy Heights Art Center's Event Center (our usual meeting place) at 10:00 a.m.  If you want to come earlier some of us will be there from about 8:00 a.m. doing the set-up for the event.  Help is always welcomed.
