With great sadness, we inform you of the passing of Johnny Bowman. Johnny was a long-time
OVWG member and a master turner. A major guild supporter, he participated on numerous
committees including the Advisory, Monitors and Safety, and Nominating Committees, and was
actively involved with our symposiums. His generosity will be remembered through the
countless, beautiful woodturnings donated for guild fundraisers and Beads of Courage. But
above all, we will remember him as a kind person and good friend who was always willing to
help others. He freely shared his knowledge and supported the personal growth of other
turners through jam sessions, demonstrations, and mentoring. His passing leaves a void in our
membership. We will later announce any plans for a celebration of his life. In the interim,
condolences can be sent to his wife, and our guild president, Nancy Bowman at 1555 Redkey
Road, Winchester, OH, 45697. Johnny was also a member of the Southeastern Ohio
Woodturners. |
