Appalachian Festival

After a two season hiatus, APPALACIAN FESTIVAL IS BACK!!!!!!  Unless the virus situation changes, the festival is on for May 7th and 8th. The festival will be on Saturday and Sunday (Note…no show on Friday!) of Mother’s day week-end. Due to some changes at Coney, we will not be in the same space as other years, but  will have a space similar in size to what we have had in the past, and close to the same location.  While the main focus is always demonstration of the art of woodturning, there will also be eight vending spaces for those of you who would like to display (and sell) some of your creations.

Vending spaces will be available on a first come first served basis.  A 10x10 space will cost $50 for both Saturday and Sunday or $25 for a single day.  You will not need to bring a tent, as we will be under a shelter.  You can bring your own tables or you can rent 8ft tables from Coney for $10 each.

More info will come out closer to festival time, but if you have any questions or concerns please contact either Mary Carol Meinken or David Wright.

If you want to reserve a vending space, please email Mary Carol at marycarolmeinken@gmail.com. Payment for spaces will not be due until April 15th.

This event is always a lot of fun.  It is a chance to spend some time with other club members, and show off your stuff!! And you get to eat all that wonderful fair food!   Those who have participated in the past will agree that it is a week-end to remember!

As always we will need several OVWG members to demonstrate while the festival is going on.  The demonstrations attract a lot of interest and attention.  This is a great opportunity to turn a few items, interact with the crowd, promote the art of woodturning and possibly attract a few new members.  If you are willing to spend a little (or a lot) time making shaving fly let either Mary Carol Meinken or David Wright know.
