Subject: Nomination of Candidates for OVWG Board Positions February 22, 2023
Each year the membership of the OVWG has the privilege of electing officers to serve on the Board of Directors. There are a total of five elected positions and the terms of office are staggered so as to maintain continuity on the Board. During odd numbered years the offices of President and Vice President of Programming are up for election. The election will be held during the monthly meeting in April and newly elected officers will begin their terms on September 1. Terms are for a period of two years.
I write this message to encourage you to consider and possibly nominate people for these positions. If you nominate someone you should do so with approval of the concerned individual. If you are interested in serving the OVWG in one of these positions you may nominate yourself. Qualifications are simple: candidates should have been a member of the OVWG for at least two years. Prior experience on the Board or in a leadership position is a plus but is not required. Leadership experiences from your civilian career or the military might come in handy.
