Responsible to manage and guide the OVWG within its constitution and by-laws.
Appointed and led by VP Facilities & Equipment. Responsible for Long Term Equipment plan.
List of approved monitors for the learning center. One or more monitors must be present and responsible for LC anytime the LC is in use.
These people are available to mentor those who need a bit of help with their woodturning technique or processes. Do you need help getting started or working out a problem? Call any of the Members listed below. As always, there is NO CHARGE to members of the Ohio Valley Woodturners Guild. We love to share our woodturning passion. Call us, we want to help you. Contact any Board member with any changes or if you’d like to join these talented volunteers.
Appointed by the club President. Responsible for Creating & Implementing Intro. & Advanced classes, Turn & Learn, & one-time classes. Recruit Members for demos, and classes.
Chaired by the Past President and responsible for recruiting and nomination of people to fill expiring or vacant spots on the Board of Directors and Chairman of Committees
Appointed and led by VP of Programming. Responsible for recruiting Pro Demonstrators for Monthly Meetings, and all Professional led classes, Manage Wood Team - Procure wood for classes & members.
These folks are approved to be Demonstrators at Club functions.
Responsible for all things AV, Inventory, Maintenance, Rental, Set-up, Recruit & Train Operators
Band Saw Qualified
Members who have successfully completed the Band Saw training course and been approved for solo band saw operation.
Appointed and led by Dir. of Community Involvement. Responsible for identifying, planning, staffing, managing of outreach programs such as Empty Bowls, Pens for the Troops, External Demos, Art shows, etc.
Attend to drinks and food at meetings.
Scholarship Committee
The Guild currently provides two scholarships, the Zeller and Choromokos Memorial Scholarships. Awarding the scholarships is in line with the overall intent of the Guild to promote learning about woodturning. Scholarships will be awarded by recommendation of the Scholarship Committee, which is appointed by the President of the OVWG, and approved by the Board of Directors.
Appointed and led by Symposium Director. Responsible for all things Symposium. Planning & implementation of biennial Symposium.
Charged with management of website, look & feel & content, recruiting webmaster.
Procure and prep wood for classes & members.
Appointed and led by Dir. of Youth Turning. Responsible for defining and outreach to target population, program development & implementation.
