About this event

Side-grain captured spin top - In this workshop, you will create a 4-piece spin top where the spin top and spin platform are attached yet still mobile. The spin top will be in side-grain orientation, and include sections of heartwood and sapwood. Michael will teach you various techniques to calibrate the spin top so that it is balanced and spins well.

Tools needed by participants: Basic turning tools down to 3/8" diameter, including a Jacobs chuck with 1/4" and 3/8" drill bits. PPE. Optionally, embellishment tools (carving, pyrography, paint, etc...) can also be used to enhance the spin top (not required).
