Skew chisels have to be one of the most feared tools in woodturning, but they are also the most versatile. Spend a day rebonding with your skews on both spindle and bowl forms. Attendees will be challenged to reconsider how and when skew chisels are used, and experience not just beads and coves, but hollowing, bowl turning, and sculpting with skews. Beginners welcome!
Bring: As many skew chisels as you can get your hands on. Round, square, large, small, old, new. Bring them all! Students should also bring medium and soft woods to turn (makes things less scary), such as maple, poplar, basswood, cherry, etc. Bowl blank and spindle blanks are encouraged. Sandpaper is nice but not mandatory.
