Member Appreciation Luncheon
Thanks for your huge response to our invitation to the 2025 Member Appreciation Luncheon. I am pleased to announce that we have reached full capacity for the room with 104 registered for the luncheon. We also have people on the waitlist so If you should find that you will not be able to attend please let me know so that we can open it for the waiters.
I want to remind you of our request that you bring a dessert to share with others. The following is a reminder from Lydia Hirsh (in charge of desserts). “If you and your guest are planning to celebrate at our luncheon on Saturday, could you please bring a finger dessert to share with one another. This could be brownies, cookies, candy. Something you can pick up with fingers. Nothing that needs a fork, spoon or bowl. Keep it simple. Thanks so much for sharing. You are much appreciated.”
Mary Carol Meinken is in charge of table decoration and has invited you to bring an ornament for your table (be sure to take it home with you). I also want to remind you of the gift exchange and the contest. As I mentioned in an earlier message, gifts should be in a gift bag or packaged so that the contents are not visible until opened. If you have not prepared a wig stand for the contest there is still time since you will be using dry wood. Check the OVWG website for directions on how to make these. Following the luncheon contest pieces will be given to the UC Cancer Center for distribution to cancer patients. Judging of contest pieces will be done by 3 or 4 senior members of the Guild.
While our schedule for the day is not cut in stone, we will use the following as a guideline.
10:00 a.m. Open the doors for entry to the meeting room. Bring contest pieces and items for gift exchange.
11:00 a.m. All contest pieces should be in place for judging (check in with Todd Carris & Jim Campbell).
11:00 a.m. All items for gift exchange should be deposited (check in with Todd Carris & Jim Campbell to get a ticket).
11:00 - 11:45 a.m. Judging of contest pieces and selection of Peoples Choice Award.
11:00 - 11:45 a.m. Gift Exchange - open the gift you chose, show to lunch group, tell who made it.
11:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. Lunch and visitation with fellow members
12:45 - 1:00 p.m. Conclusion of Luncheon
