First Saturday Brown and Round: Platters
(BYO Lunch)
Learn the basics of platter turning. Work on methods of mounting on the lathe for turning the face and finishing the base. Learn the basic tool kit. Look at design options which provide opportunities for various types of later embellishment.
Skill Level: Novice and Beyond
All students should have at least taken the OVWG basics classes and feel comfortable using parting tools, scrapers and bowl gouges.
Materials: Students should bring their own tools, and tools will also be available for those who need them.
Pre-requisite: Introduction to Woodturning and the OVWG LC.
