Available Slots:
  • Topic:  Learn to make a snowflake holiday ornaments. The projects will be based on advanced spindle turning skills.  
  • Skill Level:  Intermediate. The pace of this class will assume you've have experience with spindle turning including having turned a finial (though you need not be expert in the latter).
  • Project: Form snowflake laminates, inlay them into a cross-drilled hardwood cube, turn a globe with inlay, turn a cap and finial to complete the ornament.
  • Materials:  Blanks, snowflakes, and glue will be provided
  • Pre-requisite:  Introduction to Woodturning and the OVWG LC, experience with finials or other delicate spindle work.  Also read and be familiar with the AAW Lathe Safety Guidelines and the Glossary of Woodturning Terms, available on the OVWG website in the document library or by clicking the following links:  AAW Lathe Safety Guidelines and Woodturning Glossary
