Let's Make A Scoop (or two) is a hands on turning event ideal for intermediate and up wood turners. Participants will enhance their end grain and spindle turning skills. The materials will be supplied and consist of seasoned close grain hard woods. The scoop will be approximately 2X2X3 and the handles 1 inch square stock ranging from 4 to 10 inches long.  The scoops will be assembled and ready for finishing.
The instructor, Lowell Converse, is a long time OVWG member who has demonstrated and provided hands on events several times over the years. You maybe aware of Lowell's wooden mallet class which is a traditional favorite. Mr. Converse entered the Air Force as a helicopter mechanic and through the Air Force obtained his engineering degree, ultimately becoming a commissioned officer and Project Manager for the AC 130 Gunship. Following his career of service, Lowell joined Rolls-Royce Aviation becoming their Dayton Regional Marketing Representative enjoying many years in the aviation industry.
We look forward to your joining us for a morning of skills development and general fun.
